Day 30: End of the line!

We attended a banquet for some friends who also are celebrating 5 years in ministry this month. I actually did not take my camera (on purpose) so that I could enjoy the celebration. I did snap this one picture of the food (which was delicious).

And this morning I made up for my lack of Black Friday shopping by picking up these two gems from JustFab! And yes, I need another purse like I need a hole in my head. But the price could not be beat and believe it or not I did not have a navy blue bag (which is one of my favorite colors). Now I have two and they only cost me $39.99! One bag was marked at $14.00 if you buy another at $39.99 (if your not familiar with JustFab the average bag or shoes cost no more then $39.99 and includes free shipping). I also had a coupon for $15.00 off which basically means I only paid for one bag and the other was FREE!!! You can't beat that with a stick!

And that brings us to the end of my Month of Daily Blogging! I have to admit I wasn't sure I would make it and I know sometimes it took me a minute to get up a new post...but I accomplished my goal and I'm very happy! Next month I hope to have my November Favorites, My Ipsy review and lots of Holiday decor up! So keep your fingers crossed because I'm sure the month is going to be CRAZY with a capital C! LOL

Day 29: Black Friday!

This year I just did not feel like getting up early and going shopping. That never ever happens especially on Black Friday!

We did make it to a few places but by 1:00 I was ready to come home and chill. So chill I did! I think Marc spent the rest of the day in shock because he kept asking me if I wanted to go back out! LOL

Day 28 Part 2: Its a family affair!

After dinner (well after we all vegetated on the couch a while) we headed over to my cousins home for a little family time with the cousins and my aunt!

Nicki has been editing the wedding video from this summer and she wanted to give the bride and groom a sneak peek.

This is my 90 plus year old aunt watching. She also wanted to know how fast the pics would be up on Facebook! LOL

Hanging with my nephew who apparently thinks I'm pretty cool because I was wearing my Converse! LOL

With my mom and sister.

With the sister cousins!

My aunt requested that we all gather around in a circle and have prayer before getting back on the road that night. I can't explain the expressions on my daughters and my sisters face. Apparently they can't either! LOL

All in all we had a great Thanksgiving. There is nothing like spending time with the family!!!

Day 28: Happy Turkey Day (part 1)

Thanksgiving morning around my house usually consist of cooking, watching the Thanksgiving Day parade and checking off items in the Black Friday sales paper!

Since I'm not actually hosting anything this year my only responsibility was making the mashed potatoes and the stuffing! Not bad if I do say so myself!

Used my Thirty one bag to pack up all of my "stuff" for the journey!

Going through the tunnel. Traffic was surprisingly light for Thanksgiving morning!

My mommy cracking open the mandatory Jiffy Cornbread! LOL

Our Thanksgiving meal was the bomb.com!

Marc carving the turkey and mom supervising! LOL

I think I over indulged just a tad! LOL

Stay tuned for part 2 of Thanksgiving Day!

Day 27: same old same old!

I took exactly one picture this day!! Nothing went as planned including leaving for moms house the night before Thanksgiving.

As a matter of fact Marc worked late and I slept in until like noon! I just couldn't get myself together and it seemed my body insisted upon me resting!

I also forget to eat until late evening hence the one picture included in this post because I finally broke down and made a salad!

Poor Marc had to work, come home and smoke a bunch of meat then rush to a church service at 7. I'm pretty sure I was back in bed early. This getting older stuff kind of sucks as far as the energy part is concerned. I got to do something about that and soon.

Day 26: pre- holiday prep

Today was a blur! So here are just a few snippets! LOL

I don't know about you but when my fridge is full I love to cook!

My original plan was to cook my dishes in advance for Thanksgiving. And originally Marc planned to smoke his meat .

But for some reason none if that happened! lol I'm not sure what happened that day!

I do know my freezer needs a good cleaning out! Note to myself next year...put a date and name on anything you freeze so that you can identify it months later! lol

It took everything in me not to eat both of these pies. But the apple one was for Thanksgiving so I didn't touch it.  Amazingly neither did anyone else in the house! lol

Like I said that day when by in a blur and I'm sure I did something that day...I just can't recall what! lol

Oh unless you count the big storm that barreled down on us that evening! Which may explain the memory loss. There is something about a rainy gloomy day that inspires me to do absolutely nothing! LOL

Day 25: Foodie!

Started the morning off by making homemade pancakes with walnuts.

Top of the list today was hitting the grocery store for regular groceries as well as for Thanksgiving Day.

Don't ask me what Marc plans to do with two turkeys!

We had to have two carts! That was a first.

And did I mention we also had to buy a car battery. This is Marc in SAMs Club parking lot replacing the old one. And yes our battery is in the trunk of the car. I don't know what the Lincoln designers were thinking!

After putting all that food away the last thing I felt like doing was cooking but I did it anyway!

Technically the only thing I have to prepare for Thanksgiving is mashed potatoes and stuffing but I always cook my own Turkey dinner so that we can have leftovers ! lol

Day 24: Baby It's cold outside!!!

Yesterday we woke up to temps in the low 30s with whipping winds! Marc went outside for a minute and came back in saying you not only needed your long johns you needed your cousins long johns as well!

This is him driving to church. I felt like I was in an old western movie! lol

The kids after service raiding Marc's fridge for some chocolate!

It was Senior Sunday at WABC yet somehow my husband still managed to spend most of his time hanging with the babies! smh

I was tempted to wear this ensemble to church ( I did wear the leggings under my jeans) but I refrained until we came home from lunch with the seniors at Golden Corral!

Day 23: It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! NOT

I can pretty much guarantee there will be no Christmas decoration up before the week after Thanksgiving. LOL

Breakfast this morning. A Chicken wrap with a side of Shreracha. LOL

My mom and my sis are in North Carolina this weekend picking up my nephew from his dads house for the holidays. I can't believe he's 16! Seems like it was just yesterday when my sister was sending him off for his first day of school!

The sky was beautiful (not to mention all of the colors of the trees) today as Nicki and I traveled to the church to work on bulletins.

No you are not seeing things. That's my twin uncles who somehow got roped into coming out and singing in the Christmas program.

My little cousin! Yep, I'm pretty sure he will be as close as we will ever come to grandparents. LOL

A little retail therapy from the Dollar Tree!

The closest I have come to Christmas so far is pulling out my Christmas folder.

Day 22: Day Dreaming

I've had a hard time getting in the mood for Christmas so I thought watching the Disney Christmas parade would help. All that did was make me homesick for WDW.

We said goodbye to a very special lady on Friday. She will be missed!

We didn't get home that evening until 5 pm. Usually not a big deal but with the time change 5 pm just seems like 10 at night. lol

I was craving a soft cone ice cream all day. Thank goodness Nicki can't to the rescue.

Marc still had to go to class after the funeral. By the time he returned that night  he was just as emotionally drained as I was. Needless to say I fell asleep while he watched the game. This morning I found out he fell asleep watching the game as well. We are pretty pitiful! lol

I should have slept better but the last week or so I have been going to bed thinking about ministry, dreaming about ministry in my sleep and waking up thinking about ministry. That pretty much takes care of getting a good nights sleep!  NOT! lol

Day 21: Hedge of Protection!

I got up this morning with pain in both arms so the most I've done today is attempt to fold a few clothes, eat and chill under the blanket.

The day probably would have been drama free if my oldest daughter hadn't called and said she was on lockdown because there was a team of cops swarmed around an apartment building near her job. It would be nearly six hours before the lockdown would be lifted.

I made a decision a while ago to ask God to surround my children ( especially once they became adults) under a hedge of protection because let's face it, we can never be everywhere that our children are. Tonight I'm thanking him for his grace and mercy and for keeping my child safe.

Day 20: Lazy Day Wednesday!

I've been having Disney withdrawals so for some reason I thought drinking out of my Pop Century mug would help!

Well when at first you don't succeed grab the comfort food.

And if that doesn't work try some retail therapy! In my case it was mostly window shopping but I did find a coupon for JustFab that I for sure will be using before the end of the month! lol

Of course as a last resort there is always chocolate! LOL

Marc worked so late Wednesday night that we weren't able to get there in time to serve dinner. As a matter of fact he went straight from work so I stayed at home and cuddled up under the blanket.
