Ten Year Celebration

This past weekend we celebrated ten years at WABC. I can't believe its been ten years since we started this journey. It was a privilege to decorate the fellowship hall in honor of my husband. He deserved this celebration after ten years of pastoring and especially after his stroke back in March. I wanted so much for this day to be extra special for him and thanks to a few special people in our life it was.

Marc and I ten years ago. We have a few more lines in our faces, as well as a few gray hairs. We have had some good years, and some not so good years. But I don't think either of us would trade life in the ministry if given a choice to choose a different path.

Ten years ago at his first anniversary our friend Rev. Mike Watson spoke at his anniversary banquet.

Ten years later, despite being in pain and walking on a swollen foot he sang at Marc's tenth anniversary. Marc has known Mike since he was a teenager and they went to the same church. When he and his wife celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary I was their wedding coordinator. Our family goes way back.

The first year that Marc began his pastoral path at WABC, Deac. Parker was there to help him out on his first Sunday doing communion as Pastor. Ironically Deac. Parker was an ordained Deacon under the leadership of Marc's dad when he was pastor many, many years ago. Talk about a small world.

Sunday he gave the stats on Marc's time at WABC. How many sermons, funerals, weddings, and baptism he had performed. He also listed the names of some of his sermons.

Our beautiful daughters song their hearts out for their dad on Sunday. You can see the video here

Marc's aunt sang at his installation all those years ago.

I asked her to come and surprise Marc and sing at his tenth anniversary celebration. And boy, did she. LOL

Family friend, Rev. Cardell Patillo graced us with his presence and gave the anniversary message

I sent out an invite to Marc's classmates from VUU Samuel Dewitt School of Theology for his anniversary and boy did they show up.

Several other ministers and pastors showed up as well.

Since his stroke, Marc has found it hard to keep his emotions in check. My husband was never one known to cry but this experience has made us even more grateful for life, family and friends. We have been overwhelmed by the response from everyone and the support that they have given us. Not sure we would have been able to make it this far without all of their prayers.

Speaking of Family Reunion!

A couple of my family members brought me Disney stuff to the family reunion.

One cousin gifted me this beautiful Mickey Mouse (or it could be Minnie since its Pink lol).

My cousin who lives in Cali and gets to go to Disneyland all of the time brought these for me. He's been after me for years to try and make a trip out to Cali. Hopefully I will get there eventually. LOL  So what's a sign that you may be a Disney addict (or in my case a Disneyqueen)? The fact that you have family that knows about your love and will bring you gifts even at a Family reunion. LOL

Family Reunion

Photos from my Family's Reunion this pass weekend! I accidentally posted the whole thing over on my Disney page but I am too lazy to re-post it here again, so if you want details you will have to head over there! LOL

Update

Not going to lie the last few months have been extremely hard but Marc is doing remarkably well (the doctors words not ours) considering the fact that he had a stroke nearly four months ago. We are still adjusting to life changes (especially trying to control our eating habits. Not that we were over eaters. We just ate the wrong things.....sugar for him and salt for me). We have joined a gym (never saw that one coming) and have committed to at least three days a week for now. Marc is doing four laps around our neighborhood every morning and most nights (weather permitting). We have maintained our home life despite the fact that Marc has not worked consistently since the stroke (he has taken on some odd jobs in the last few weeks, and last Sunday he stood up in the pulpit to preach for the first time since the stroke). We still have a long way to go but the encouragement, support and prayers of those around us has kept our faith high. I don't know what tomorrow will bring but I am very thankful to God that he has kept us thus far.

Life Change

Over three weeks ago my husband suffered a stroke. Needless to say this has forever changed our world. He is probably about 80 % better physically, but his speech is at about 78% at the moment.  I'm not sure when I will be able to resume blogging. Please keep my family in your prayers.

The Eagle has Landed!!!

After 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting it was great to start the new month off with my family's favorite Football team winning the championship game!!!!

This has been my profile picture all month!

Should I feel bad that my clothes for Sunday evening were laid out the night before, even before my church clothes? LOL

Hubby and I were game ready!

Baby girl didn't have a photo with any Eagles gear so she created a bitmoji , Don't you just love that app?

We went to Q's church to watch the game and had a great time. Especially when our team won.

This is our We're Going to Disney World face after the win! LOL

Starting next week I think I am going to bring back my Sunday series on life through the PW's eyes. Like I said in my previous post.....its a brand new year and I aim to do better with my blogs then I did last year. I really have missed it!

New Year, New Me!!!

We are going to ignore the fact that I haven't posted here in months, and start the New Year off by sharing some New Year's Day photos. The family got together to celebrate a new year and new beginnings, and that is what we are going to do here. Not sure which direction I will go with this blog (having three blogs got just a tad overwhelming last year) so while I am working on my 21 Days of Prayer journey I am really going to consider what my goals for this year will be including my blogs, YouTube channel and my other social media outlets. I promise to keep you posted and not leave you hanging like I have the last few months. And in all honesty, I miss not being able to go back and see what I was up to since dropping the ball.
