Nicki's Spring Break in New York

Nicki spent her spring break in New York visiting friends. She had quite an adventure. Hopefully I can get some of her New York sight seeing pictures up in the next couple of days (she went to ground zero and said it was really moving....which if you know Nicki is saying a lot. Rarely does my child cry, something she got from her dad.....so if it moved her then its got to be intense). I am glad she had the experience but so very glad my baby is back home (sad I know, but hey even my mom said it was time to come home after my two weeks in Hawaii a few years back...LOL).

NSU Choir

This picture was taken on Quisha's cell phone ( I actually went somewhere without my camera)! This morning Nicki told me one of the songs from their weekend concert was on YouTube. As soon as I figure out how to attach the video here I will. In the meantime you can see it here.

Eric Taylor

One of the highlights from the weekend was seeing gospel violinist Eric Taylor in concert at Mrs. Ellis birthday celebration. We met Eric years ago at my aunt's birthday celebration and then again at my mom's church. Over the last few years we lost track of his career, so it was a great surprise to see him again. That boy can play that violin like nobodies business. As soon as I can figure out how I plan to put a video of him playing on the blog.

Weekend Happenings

Quisha spent the weekend hanging out with her little sister.

Mrs. Ellis (my Aunt Maryland's mom) celebrated her 98 Birthday.

We not only attended the birthday celebration, we also attended a soulfood dinner at church, and Sunday after church we went to dinner with friends.

Nicki returned home Sunday night from a 3 day concert tour. She was very happy to be home (go figure)! Apparently there really is no place like home.

Happy Birthday Marc

Seems like we have been very busy over the last few weeks, but we did not want the weekend to go by without celebrating Marc's birthday: February 1oth (of course he decided to be a bad boy).

Birthday Girl

The Twins
All of the neices (and a great neice), my daughters and my sister -in-law Marsha ( Marc's twin).

My brother in law (Marsha's husband) and my nephew.

Marc's twin sister and her daughter (my neice).

Marc and two of his sister's.

Marc is a twin, but they do not celebrate their birthday on the same day. Marc's twin sister Marsha was born before 12 midnight and Marc was born the next morning. This weekend the family got together to celebrate.

Quisha

For the next three weeks Quisha is teaching at her preschool ( she is substituting). I was so proud when I saw her getting her lesson plans together and setting her class up for the week.

Congratulations Kelli

You will probably have to click on the picture to get all of the details. Update: Kelli just posted ultrasound pictures of my cyber nephew here. And just in case my family is reading this and you need a little explanation then read this, this, this and this? And for those of you who don't know her story you can read about it here. I promise you it will change your mindset.

Happy New Year

I can't believe my last post was on December 26th! Well actually yes I can. Life has been mad crazy for so long that I am having a hard time keeping up with the days. Still trying to except that we are in the year 2008. New Years Day we spent celebrating with our family ( a tradition started by my grandmother years ago, that now my cousins and I try to keep going ( its actually three of us who host each year....me along with my mom's brother's youngest daughters...hope that made some sense). This year we also celebrated Quisha's graduation. All in all it was a good way to start the New Year.
I don't usually create goals for the new year, and I still don't have anything set in stone but I am hoping to spend more time with my family, spend more time with God, and spend more time scrapping. I don't plan to put any pressure on myself so I won't be submitting just to get recognition or trying out for any DT unless I really feel a connection to the group. I do want to begin teaching this year so hopefully that is one dream that will come true.
I plan to just take a day at a time and see where the road leads me, that way everything else will be a surprise or just icing on the cake.
Marc has a few more weeks of recuperation and hopefully after he gets back to work I can get back to a set schedule. Especially with my scrapbooks. I have a ton of projects that I need to get started on but right now my job is to just be his helpmate.
