Day 9 & 10: Monday Night Wrap Up

By Friday night I knew there was no way I was going to be able to blog over the weekend!

I don't even know where to start! So instead I'm just going to post a bunch of pictures!

We had so much support from friends

I decided to surprise Marc and sing for him. I also asked Nicki to help me. Do you see her face? Priceless!!! lol

Family! Some of them should never be allowed near a mike especially when asked to speak about us! lol

Our youth singing!!

Marc made a great choice when he picked his professor Dr. McKenzie! People are still talking today about the luncheon but especially about how much they enjoyed listening to Dr. McKenzie.

Our luncheon MC Kyle and his lovely wife. He did an awesome job!

Our musician friend Rev. Davis!!!

Everyone seemed to have a great time and Marc was pleased so that's all that matters.

Sunday went by in a flash!

Several of my girlfriends showed up at the morning service.

Our friends surprised us by showing up at the afternoon service! We have the best friends!!

Marc opening up his gift!

Me opening up my gift!! OMG! I can't tell you how shocked I am.

The minsters wives and my girlfriend who's probably going to be a ministers wife at some point! This candid just makes me smile.

The ministers and the MC from the luncheon.

Nicki worked her socks off this weekend not just putting all of the programs together but helping us set up for the luncheon and even participating in the program on Sunday by introducing her Godfather who preached that morning.

Even miss independent living on her own showed up both days!!

I know I sound like a broken record but I really am proud of this man! I can't believe its been five years!

Day 8: What day is it???

Friday came and went!  Most of the day was spent running errands, including get my hair did and ironing 20 plus tablecloths!

The rest of the evening was spent setting up for Saturday.

Just call me the re purpose queen! lol

I have to admit I love the fact that you can order (and keep) your own linen! We used the same company that we used for the wedding. They have a vast selection of styles and colors and at the time I placed the order for the linen they were an additional percentage off. So it actually came out cheaper than renting!

The flowers were re purposed from the wedding. The brown lanterns were from Michaels  (again while on sale). And the plates and glasses were courtesy of the Dollar Tree. The gold chargers I have had for years. My dream is to one day have enough chargers to place at every place setting!

The nameplates should look familiar. Another Dollar tree original. And I had three extra runners that I just tied onto the back of the chairs where the ladies sat at the head table.

One of church members actually had this lovely set of silverware. It added just the right touch!

Martinique will be the first to tell you that she folded over 1250 pieces of paper to create the program (which was tech. 250 programs) that were not only created for the luncheon but that will be used in both Sunday services.

Not bad if I do say so myself!

Day 7: No time to talk!

I didn't get home until 11:00 pm last night! There just want any time to even think about blogging! I barely managed to remember to snap some pictures! And Marc brought me another stack of books yesterday. Can someone explain when I'm going to have time to read in the next few months? I mean with class Marc doesn't even have time to read. He's even joked I could read for him! Umm...nope! Ain't nobody got time for that!

By now you may be asking what I did with my day! Most of it was spent finalizing the program for this weekend.

I don't think Nicki has ever folded so many programs in one sitting!

As you can see my attire hasn't changed much in the last two days.

And pray tell why did my hubby have to bring this home!! OMG! This box could be the death of my hips!!

The luncheon on Saturday is being catered but the church is serving Sunday so we were at Sams Club yesterday picking up food as well as supplies for Saturdays  luncheon.

When I finally got home last night I grabbed a quick bite to eat, and was soon out like a light!

Today is just as busy so I still may not get a post out before the morning. Until later folks!!

Day 6: Casual Day

I'm determined to get today's blog post up before midnight! Lets see how this goes.

After posting yesterday's blog post this morning I got right to work packing up the supplies for the luncheon. We get access to the venue Friday night so I have to have everything ready to go by Thursday night. That's after we go shopping for the entire weekend!

Marc brought me breakfast this morning. Good thing to since I probably wouldn't have had time to stop and fix something.

I glued ribbon on 15 centerpieces this morning (glued my fingers a couple of times as well..lol). So now the transformation from wedding centerpieces to luncheon centerpieces is complete. I also washed and packed up all the plates and glasses for he head table.

I also did some re purposing with these flowers I got a year ago at a church garage sale. I pulled the red flowers added flowers to match the other centerpieces. You'll get to see the transformation in a future blog post!

Marc's work schedule had been crazy this week so neither of us were up to cooking tonight for bible study. Heck! Your lucky I got out of my pjs and put on my shoes!

I can't tell you when the last time we ordered pizza. Let alone for Wednesday night bible study but everyone ate it so I guess that's good!

I'm bone tired so after this post I think I'm going to take a hot shower and call it a night! Until tomorrow... See you on the flip side my friends!

P.S: I think I'm going to make my midnight deadline!!!

Day 5: A Day Late and A Dollar Short!

Yesterday was just one of those days! You know the day where everything you plan goes astray? Hence the reason this post is up a day late!

I can't even tell you what I ate yesterday which is sad in itself, but even sadder is the fact that I accomplished hardly anything yesterday. Unless you count voting!

Can I say right now how much I hate politics? And not just in the government! Lets face it there is a lot if politics in the church and neither Marc or I are very good at it. We just want to love on people, but sometimes people make it very hard to love them! When that happens you truly have to rely on God. If he can love me with all of my mess what right do I have to not do the same? Now saying that and actually doing that is hard! And that's where grace comes in. I don't know about you but I need a lot of Gods grace!! HAHA

This is how I know I've been too busy...when it takes you days to notice that Lush sent their holiday newsletter!! OMG! This could be trouble for Marc's wallet with a capital T! Not to mention the fact that Bath and Bodyworks started posting their Christmas stuff!

I've really got to get cracking on my to do list today which includes doing something with these veggies from our "garden". It amazes me that we are still getting tomatoes and peppers off the vines Marc planted this summer!

Pray today is more productive then yesterday! Who knows you might get two post today!! lol

Day 4: Shortest post ever in life!!

I have literally been at the computer most of the day! No time for pictures or anything! This is what happens when you have to confirm with the caterers, finish the guest table list, verify tickets sold, finalize decorations and programs!! If I wasn't in front of my laptop at home I've been in front of the desk computer at church! And Nicki and I still have to work on the the final part of the video presentation!! I've been so busy I almost forgot to eat and none I've my usual housework had been done but that's a given the week of an event. And this event is extra special because its honoring my hubby!

So I'm not sure what I will actually blog the next few days but I guarantee I will blog something!! Even if its just a picture of the program!!! lol

It's been freezing cold since I got back home and Marc is working late so I decided a bowl of smashed potatoes with cheese would be my reward for the day!!

The only plans I have for the rest of the evening is snuggling up under my blanket and watching YouTube and some TV!

Day 3

With the change in time last night you would think I would enjoy an extra hour of sleep! Umm no!! I ended up waking up when Marc did at the crack of dawn!

He gets up early on Sunday mornings to study and prepare for service.

So since I'm up as well might as well make good use of time and read a few chapters from the latest book I'm reading. I've let my love of books fall by the sidelines sort of like my scrapbooks (which I'm really starting to miss doing).

Of course I had to get my Sunday morning praise on!

I figured if I ate fruit for breakfast it would make up for the Krispie Kreme donut I knew I would eat from the cafe at church!! lol That and very sweet, very dark cup of black tea made in hubby's Keurig! Would now be a good time to say how much I want one of those for our kitchen at home?? lol

After service Marc and I headed to IHop for dinner. It's been a while since we ate out on Sunday. And definitely a while since we had been to IHop. The funny thing is we are so well known at IHop that several of the servers came up to say hi! lol My husband has never met a person he couldn't hold a conversation with.

I'm still in anniversary preparation mode even on Sunday afternoon. Picked up glasses and plates for the head table! I keep telling y'all...the Dollar Tree is this event planners best friend!!

Right now Marc and I are just chillin and watching tv. Well actually he's watching tv. I'm just chillin! lol

November Daily Blog: Day 1 and 2

So I've decided to blog each day during the month of November. My original plan was to start yesterday but unfortunately I was traveling yesterday to my moms to be with family for the home going of my Godfather which took place this morning. So I'm combining a bit of yesterday and today.

Next week Marc and I will celebrate 5 years at WABC so I also went home early to collect some flowers from my cousin that we used at the wedding this summer. I spent most of last night transforming the centerpieces from wedding flowers to the color scheme of our banquet luncheon which will take place on Saturday.

This morning my mom, my cousins and I left early for the funeral which took place at 11 am at my godfathers home church.

My godfather was a very special man. He not only baptized me as a child but officiated at our wedding. He also traveled with our family on our first ever trip to WDW. Please keep my godmother in your prayers. They were married over 50 plus years.

I came back home with my aunt and uncle after the funeral. Marc would have been there but he's in class in weekends and with our anniversary coming up next weekend he is just not able to skip out on to many classes. He is a sweet man though because he sent me a text several times asking if I was ok. I was surrounded by many of my family members including my mom so he knew I was in good hands. The fact that he checked on me anyhow makes him even more special to me.

I didn't want to sit around the rest of the afternoon so I decided to attend the Breast Cancer Awareness program that was bring held at WABC. Earlier in the week I had stated I probably wouldn't be there because of the funeral but at the last minute I changed my mind.

Although breast cancer is a hard subject for me ( I have had and still have a girlfriend at this moment who is dealing with this) I am glad I went. There is nothing like hearing others testimony and stories to remind you that life is worth celebrating and that you should never take it for granted. Here are a few pics from the event.

The young lady that spoke had a powerful testimony to share about how this event in her life instead of taking her out brought her closer to God. Like I said it was a reminder of just how important it is to live life, love on people and count each day you get to live on this earth as a blessing and an opportunity to give back in some capacity.
