Family Road Trip

I know I promised to upload on Saturdays and Wednesdays but the weekend have been extremely busy around these here parts (at least in my own personal life). I recently told some friends that if I ever write a book it will be called "My Life Is A Series of Events". Because honestly I am always at some event or the other (even when I am not planning them myself). LOL

The week after Easter my mom, my oldest daughter, my baby sister, hubby and I headed to MD for a quick overnight trip to see my niece get married. This was after an already busy week of classes and meetings at church. We had a great time though (granted our accommodations that weekend did not turn out so well). So although I am a week behind in my blogs (not to mention off my schedule) I thought I would still share some photos from the wedding. I will catch up on this pass weekends activities on Wednesday.

Birthday Celebrations!!

Not even sure where to begin!! I had the best time this past weekend celebrating my birthday with friends and family. I decided earlier in the year that I wanted to try my hand at painting. I had seen my girls attend several painting parties and I thought this would be a good place to start. I didn't really think I would do that well, but I still wanted to try it out. So I shared my plans with my oldest daughter and said...since I planned a lot of your parties I think its your turn to be in charge of mine. LOL ( I don't think we thought it through at the time since it would be only a few weeks after she had moved into her new apartment, but because she asked one of my girlfriends to help it kind of took some of the pressure off of her. Plus, she said I was driving her crazy lol. Its a lot harder to give the reins to someone else when your usually the party planner, so I tried...just not sure I succeeded that well lol).

They even got us a private room!!! Having not ever been I did not know what to expect but it not only met my hopes and dreams, it over exceeded them. Starting from the moment I walked in the door that staff was amazing. Not to mention I was not expecting food, but my girlfriend Sonia and my girls even handled that detail.

I kind of knew there might be cupcakes (only because they had asked me my favorite flavors) but I was not expecting them to be themed to match the party!! I recently looked back over some old photos and realized I have a thing for beach themed parties lol.

Mid way through the process I was amazed it looked this good. LOL

Baby girl seemed to enjoy it as well (as well as my BFF in the background eating lol).

Quisha not only did a good job on her painting, but a great with her mom's party (and this was with a really painful toothache).

The rest of the ladies. They were in deep concentration! LOL The light haired women in the middle is my bestie who pulled off a lot of the surprises that night. I couldn't stop hugging and thanking her and Quisha for doing such a good job.

My mom, and the sister cousins drove the hour 1/2 to spend the evening with me as well.

The finished product! Not bad if I do say so myself!

All the ladies!!!!! I will never forget that night. We laughed, we ate, and we danced (I have the videos to prove it lol). The staff said they had never had so much fun. And apparently we impressed the guest in the other room because they wanted to know what we were drinking (nothing unless you count our alcohol free punch lol). They also said they wish they had been in the room with us. We ended closing down the place because even though we had been told we didn't need to clean up...that is just not in this groups DNA. Which I also think won us points because they wanted to know when we were coming back. One of the assistants even thanked us for making her feel like she was a part of the family. LOL That's just how we roll. I love my family!!!!

Starting the Birthday Celebrations Early

I will officially turn 53 on Friday. But my girlfriend Teresa decided we should start the celebrations early. Back in the day a bunch of us would get together to celebrate birthdays of those in the group on the month of their birthday. We stopped doing this a long while ago, but lately we have all talked about the importance of fellowshipping together more often. Especially since we all go to different churches. When I posted these photos on my page I talked about how hard it is when your on the leadership end of ministry and how important it is to have a support system. I am very blessed that I have that not only through my very close knit family, but also through some really awesome friends who are like family!

We ate dinner down at the oceanfront at Catch 31.  Now I am the only one in the group that doesn't eat seafood, so I made sure to check out the menu beforehand to see if their was anything I could order (it really wasn't so much about the food for me as it was the company and the atmosphere so I wasn't stressing to much about the choices).

Hubby ordered and appetizer of fries loaded with cheese and chili. Which helped to fill me up. LOL

What you eat when your the only one at the table who does not like seafood. LOL

Hubby ordered Sword fish, but he wasn't as satisfied with his as I was (I say if your a seafood place that can make the chicken taste good and juicy your ok with me. I have had experience at other places where that was not the case.

The whole gang! We have been friends for over 20 plus years, but we just don't get to spend as much time together because ministry takes up a large portion of our "free" time.

The restaurant is right on the boardwalk and has a great view of the ocean (not to mention its a great spot to people watch lol).

My girlfriend Sonia and her hubby. Sonia's birthday is a few days after mine, so this dinner was for her as well.

Our hostess and one of my bestfriends, Teresa and her husband.  We all agreed we need to do this more often!!!

It was a bit chilly on the water so we didn't linger outside long after our "photo shoot. Not sure what the plan for next month will be, but this weekend is going to be crazy because not only is it Easter, but Friday I am celebrating my birthday with a bunch of girlfriends and my sister cousins. So stay tuned for an update (with pictures of course).

For now I have decided that Wednesdays and Saturdays will be my blog day for this page, and Tuesdays and Thursdays I will be posting on my travel page. We have a few mini trips planned and a big trip in late summer to Florida!

My creative blog now host most of the content pertaining to any Event planning, Décor or DIY projects. And I only post there when I have something to share.

Family Time!!!

I got away one weekend in March to visit my sister in Richmond and even got to spend a night in the country with my mom. Nicki, my mom and I went up to see my sister and her boyfriend Tango and then spent the night with my mom (followed by breakfast that morning with the cousins) before heading back home. Family time makes for the best time in the world for me!!

Celebrating!!

Marc and I both have been sick off and on the last few months. He ended up being sick around the time we celebrated his birthday. One Sunday I even preached for him (by this point he had lost his job). Two of my girlfriends surprised me by showing up for the service. Later that day our girls took us out to dinner to Marc's favorite restaurant (the church also showered him with lots of birthday cards).

Blue Apron Behind The Scenes

Hey girls!! Hey!!! I took the month of January off so that I could concentrate on a personal 21 Days of Prayer journey (along with the one that my church is doing). I promise to share more on that soon...I am only a few days away from finishing!!! But I thought I would pop in just to give you a glimpse into my crazy world. Nicki and I decided to do a Facebook live post last week for the fun of it. She recently ordered Blue Apron and after doing an unboxing I tried to do a "behind the scenes video", and I almost succeeded until my phone ran out of space. But I decided to upload it anyway, which also meant editing my first ever video for YouTube. All of the other videos I have ever done were like one takes!! I am so proud of myself (granted it this was after I got a "tutorial" from my son lol). If you need a little laugh to end the day you might get a kick out of this...so enjoy!!! You can thank me later!!! And just a small disclaimer....we are not sponsored by Blue Apron and if you are friends with either of us on Facebook, you will understand why the chances of that ever happening is slim to none!!! LOL
