Happy Birthday Nicki

My baby turned 22 at midnight. Happy Birthday Nicki.

I'm Thinking

I'm thinking at this point I may have been wondering what I got myself into. It rained the entire time we walked. Good thing I had some fun company, a little music (via my mp3 player) to keep me going. And a few good friends.

Happy Birthday Alex

My sister sent me pictures of my nephews birthday party from this past weekend. You can tell from his expression which gifts really made him happy. And of course "grammie" is in the background just cheesing. Happy Birthday Alex.
Happy Birthday Alex.....we love you. Aunt Cyndi, Uncle Marc, TJ, Quisha and Nicki.

Girls Night

Sonia
Diane
Me....for the first time I actually shot a picture of myself where my head wasn't cut off!

Hung out with my girls last night. We are members of the Minister's Wives and Widows Alliance ( my grandmother was a member a long time ago, also my godmother who is a member in her area). We had a great meal at Jem's and a great meeting..........Sis. Gunn was our speaker and talked about being a pastor's wife, or a minister's wife and what type of challenges come along with that title.

After the meeting the three of us went to JCPenney's and boy did we cut up ( I would tell you more, but then I would have to kill you..........LOL). Sonia, Diane and I have been friends for over 12 years! Sonia is Nicki's godmother and my girls call Diane Aunt. Our husbands hang together a lot also. We have had some good times together and last night was no different.

Happy Birthday Jen

Remember that C-Unit I was talking about? Well...Cousin Jen turned 21 today. Happy Birthday Jen. Her mom had this bright idea to turn the number 21 around and surprise Jen at 12 am (basically a backwards party...LOL. To know Michelle is to love her). She asked the guest to bring something related to the number 21..for example they could bring 21 items as a gift, or 21 things that related to a story or advice about turning 21. The C-Unit ( Trice, Nicki and Quisha ) decided to create a slide show showing Jen's 21 hair styles. Anybody that knows Jen know that her hairstyle can change from one day to the next. We never know who we will see. But if that wasn't the case then it wouldn't be Jen ( or Gee as my goddaughter...her sister likes to say). So at 12 am this morning Jen awoke to a midnight party with friends and family, plus cake and ice cream. Wish I could show you pics from the the party, but the ones the girls brought back was pretty sad. Everyone looked tired, which can only be expected at 12 am in the morning. And of course Jen was sound asleep so her pic looks like a very confused person (she would never forgive me if I posted that picture). They did say that they had a good time though. Got to love this crazy group I call my family (LOL).

By the way..there will be lots of Birthday post this month. At least 7 (maybe more ) members of my family celebrate their birthday in October (including two of my children, a nephew, my mom and Jen's mom).

My C-Unit

Ok, we all know that the girls call themselves the C-Unit. Well before there was Trice, Nicki, Quisha and Jen there was Cyndi, Pat, and Babs.

The younger version of the C-Unit with a little C in training. Happy Birthday Ms. S

Today we celebrated my little cousins 1st birthday. I think we wore her out because she fell asleep in Aunt Bab's arms half-way through the party.

The Celebration Continues

The whole gang just about.

Q's old manager from Build-A-Bear

Me stuffing my face.

Q and her girl R
The Cousin Crew
Nicki and Mimi Some of the men of our family (Low and Trev were there along with Marc and Alex).

We took over the Cheesecake Factory last night in celebration of Quisha's 23rd Birthday. Over 30 family members and friends descended down on the local restaurant in honor of the "Queen". This year the celebration ( which is usually just the women ) was crashed by a few men from our family. Including Mike and his crew all the way from California. Rod met us also ( he is in town checking in on Uncle R who had major heart surgery this week).

Family And Friends Day Picnic and Morning Service

Our church celebrated their Family and Friends Day this past weekend.

Marc got to the picnic much later then we did, and in the business of the day I forgot to take a close up of him. So the only picture he is in is this one ( the guy with the tan pants and blue shirt at the food table).
I spent a large part of the day serving food ( and boy did we have a lot of food )!

Quisha helped keep the kids occupied.

Nicki manned the floating moonwalk.

Uncle John just chilled.

Marc's Aunt was able to join us for the day. I think she had a great time.

Dance Fever

The girls performed this weekend at two events. One night at a friends church and Sunday morning at our church for Family and Friends Day service.

To Shondra and Elden

Thank you so much for including my family in the planning of your wedding. Sharing in your life together, and for allowing us to be a part of your special day. To your parents....thank you for allowing your children to become "our children" even for such a short time. We wish Shondra and Elden a long, happy, blessed union. Remember to keep God first and foremost in your life. Pray together and you will stay together. Always take time out for yourselves ( even when the babies come along). Set aside time to "date" at least once a week. At least once a year go away somewhere together....just you two. Elden keep holding her hand, and kissing her...just because. Shondra allow Elden to be the head of your home. Don't just bring 50% to the union, but each of you remember to bring a 100%. If you ever need to talk...we are here. If you ever need to cry....we are here. We are not just friends of the family, you two have become a part of our family. Our children have not just gained new friends, they have gained a brother and sister. We love you and look forward to seeing all that God has in store for you. As you know he knew from the very beginning that this moment would come.....even before you were formed in you mother's wombs. If you allow him to lead and guide your pathway...you will be the better for it.

Today Is Your Day
