Saturday we traveled to the country to be with my mom and family as they celebrated with other churches in their community. Several African American and White churches have been coming together for the last four years to promote unity. A few have even switched pulpits on Sunday to speak. We had a great time minus the walk from the car's to the picnic area. We got a lot of rain this week and unfortunately it caused a bit of a muddy situation on the field. The girls were not prepared for this and Nicki ruined a pair of very cute shoes. As you can see by the picture she was not very happy. My kids have never liked dirt of any kind (TJ once took off a pair of pants in the middle of the playground because he got grass stains on his pants..LOL). They come by it honestly. I'm not to keen on the stuff myself. The host pastor tried to convince us to let our hair down and take off our shoes and play in the "mudge" (my name for the slush and mud we walked in). Of course my family was having none of that! All and all we had a great time fellowshipping with everyone and I got a chance to see some people I had not seen since my grandparents were alive.
