Blogmas Day 14

This went down today! Nicki and I officially started our 12 Days of Christmas vlog! Parts of it are pretty hilarious. Lets just say road rage takes on a new meaning! This is Nicki strapping my camera to the window! Apparently earlier attempts that day to mount it in the steering wheel were an epic fail!! I will post when it uploads tomorrow afternoon. By the way this vlogging stuff ain't no joke! I'm beat!

Here is the first day as promised!

Blogmas Day 15

I couldn't decide which picture to post. There were so many good ones! lol

So I made an exception and posted three! lol

We had a great time at the Ugly Sweater Potluck! Even though many people did not stay and participate the few who did had an excellent time! This might need to be an annual thing! lol

Oh and before I forget....our first day of vlogging is up (link is posted in Day 15)!  And the vlog from yesterday is now up as well! Please like and subscribe. LOL

Blogmas Day 13

My Ipsy bag came in today. I know I usually show what's in the bag but this time I have a special treat for you. Today Nicki and I did an open box video together since we both subscribe to Ipsy. So next Friday you will get to see it on her beauty channel. If you haven't subscribe yet its not to late!! Also if you are interested in joining Ipsy follow my link here for more info.

Don't forget we also start vlogging tomorrow up until Christmas Day. The videos may be on a one day delay but I promise to post them here each day once they are up! I love watching vlogs but I'm always open to new suggestions. So tell me who are your favorite youtubers??

Blogmas Day 12

I baked four loaves of banana bread yesterday. In no time flat Marc has eaten almost two loaves! I love my Kenmore mixer that he gave me last Christmas. It's almost convinced me I can bake!! I really want to make a pound cake and cookies from a scratch. But I'm not that confident yet. lol

So tell me what is your favorite holiday dessert to bake ( or buy)?

Blogmas Day 11

I baked Banana bread today. It's one of the only things I've attempted to bake that actually came out!! So I've baked it several more times. When you master something (or at least get it to taste half way decent) you might as well use it! lol

So tell me what one thing would you want to "Master" before you died?

Blogmas Day 9

Marc is hooked on Candy Crush of all things!! And my mom is the one that introduced him to it. I've just never been able to get into games (of any kind). So I'm the last person you want to send a request to on Facebook. But that's probably a good thing since I'm hooked on YouTube! lol

So tell me what are you hooked on??

12 Days of Christmas

I didn't get a chance to take a picture today because I'm busy trying to clean my house so I can put up a few decorations. And I mean just a few because we will be busy most of the holiday with church and family. As a matter of fact you will get to see a large part of it on my daughters YouTube vlog because her and I will be vlogging 12 days of Christmas starting this Saturday up to Christmas Day!! I will post when she uploads but you can search for her vlog channel on YouTube now. Just type in MyPKLife757 ! And don't forget to subscribe and hit the like button (I've always wanted to say that)!! lol

Blogmas Day 8

I know its not Thanksgiving but can I just say that Sunday I was thankful for the dinners our head deacon offers after service because I just wasn't not in the mood to cook or eat one more leftover from Thanksgiving!! lol Its been a minute since we ate out on a Sunday for dinner. It use to be standard but lately we have been trying to eat more home cooked meals to cut down on some of our expenses. So what is your routine on Sunday?

Blogmas Day 7

Spent the day with my Dress Sale Buddies! There is nothing quite like spending time with girlfriends. Especially when your a PW! During our conversation it became crystal clear to me just how important it is to have a group of friends or family that let you be you. I posted this on my Facebook page after our lunch.....Talking with my girlfriends today just reaffirmed my opinion that Pastor wives need a circle of friends outside of church that not only keep it real but that love you like you are just one of the girls! This fishbowl we live in can be lonely and rough! So grateful for my WABC family but also grateful that I have a close knit biological family and girlfriends who not only pray for me but who luv me for just me!

Later that day one of my friends asked if I needed those relationships so that I would have someone to act a pure fool with. Its a great theory but in reality I need the kind of girlfriends that will call me on my mess!!!

Romans 12:For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

Blogmas Day 6

Can somebody please explain what is up with Mother Nature? I'm mean seriously....there is something wrong when its colder in Virginia then it is in California or Hawaii!!! To make it even worse...the temps in VA Beach almost hit 80 so we ( mostly...me) walked around sweating but by the time we traveled to Richmond later today we needed our coats! Just plain.....Crazy!!! Can somebody please tell me...Where they do that at???

Blogmas Day 5

I cooked collard greens for like the second time ever in my life and they were good!!! Like better then good! lol

Have you ever accomplished a goal that seemed small in comparison to others but because you were able to accomplish it you felt as if you had conquered the world???? lol

Blogmas Day 4

I spent most of bible study putting up Christmas decorations. I'm even more then ever convinced now that its a better bargain to own your own linens if you do any type of event planning, hospitality ministry, etc . I went to Party City to pick up plastic tables cloths and table skirts for our upcoming Ugly Sweater/ornament exchange. As much as I hate washing the linen after an event I don't know that I want to pay 7.50 for another plastic tableskirt ever again when I can get the real deal for $25. So now I'm curious...if your in ministry does your church have its own linen? If so do you regret it? Well you probably aren't the one washing it so you may not be able to feel my pain. lol

Blogmas: Day 3

With the exception of trying to clean up from the holidays I have had my face buried in this book! So tell me what are you reading right now?

Blogmas Day 2

I snapped this picture while sitting in a truck in Colonial Williamsburg waiting for Marc to finish up a tech job in a local Marshall's (we went Christmas shopping afterwards hence the reason I was along for the hour long ride). I eventually went into the store and looked around but I didn't see anything that I or anyone in my family just had to have. Why pick a picture of a shrub in a parking lot as my picture of the day you might ask?

Well one it immediately captured my attention because of all of the red berries on it and second it took me back to a memory from my childhood. During my teen years I lived in the country (if you have followed my blog for any length of time you know my moms house is deep in the country...like literally over the river and through the woods). Anyway...long story short the holly bush reminded me of Christmas time with my mom when we would go out into the woods and collect fresh pine leaves and holly berries to dress up the house for Christmas. We never had a real tree (I actually still own the tree my mom used throughout my childhood) but the house still had that real Christmas smell. So my question for you today is what is your fondest memory of Christmas as a child?

Blogmas Day 1!

So I've decided to do a sort of blogmas post each day but with a twist! I will post one pic a day until the 1st of January! I still plan to do some of my regular post so this will work out perfectly because I won't have the same pressure on me I had last month when I blogged everyday. So starting with today....here it goes!

I snapped this photo at the end of service today as Marc was giving his final remarks before benediction! 1st Sunday is communion Sunday at WABC (actually its that way at most traditional Baptist Churches). I would love to know when Communion Service is held at other church denominations.

Day 30: End of the line!

We attended a banquet for some friends who also are celebrating 5 years in ministry this month. I actually did not take my camera (on purpose) so that I could enjoy the celebration. I did snap this one picture of the food (which was delicious).

And this morning I made up for my lack of Black Friday shopping by picking up these two gems from JustFab! And yes, I need another purse like I need a hole in my head. But the price could not be beat and believe it or not I did not have a navy blue bag (which is one of my favorite colors). Now I have two and they only cost me $39.99! One bag was marked at $14.00 if you buy another at $39.99 (if your not familiar with JustFab the average bag or shoes cost no more then $39.99 and includes free shipping). I also had a coupon for $15.00 off which basically means I only paid for one bag and the other was FREE!!! You can't beat that with a stick!

And that brings us to the end of my Month of Daily Blogging! I have to admit I wasn't sure I would make it and I know sometimes it took me a minute to get up a new post...but I accomplished my goal and I'm very happy! Next month I hope to have my November Favorites, My Ipsy review and lots of Holiday decor up! So keep your fingers crossed because I'm sure the month is going to be CRAZY with a capital C! LOL

Day 29: Black Friday!

This year I just did not feel like getting up early and going shopping. That never ever happens especially on Black Friday!

We did make it to a few places but by 1:00 I was ready to come home and chill. So chill I did! I think Marc spent the rest of the day in shock because he kept asking me if I wanted to go back out! LOL

Day 28 Part 2: Its a family affair!

After dinner (well after we all vegetated on the couch a while) we headed over to my cousins home for a little family time with the cousins and my aunt!

Nicki has been editing the wedding video from this summer and she wanted to give the bride and groom a sneak peek.

This is my 90 plus year old aunt watching. She also wanted to know how fast the pics would be up on Facebook! LOL

Hanging with my nephew who apparently thinks I'm pretty cool because I was wearing my Converse! LOL

With my mom and sister.

With the sister cousins!

My aunt requested that we all gather around in a circle and have prayer before getting back on the road that night. I can't explain the expressions on my daughters and my sisters face. Apparently they can't either! LOL

All in all we had a great Thanksgiving. There is nothing like spending time with the family!!!

Day 28: Happy Turkey Day (part 1)

Thanksgiving morning around my house usually consist of cooking, watching the Thanksgiving Day parade and checking off items in the Black Friday sales paper!

Since I'm not actually hosting anything this year my only responsibility was making the mashed potatoes and the stuffing! Not bad if I do say so myself!

Used my Thirty one bag to pack up all of my "stuff" for the journey!

Going through the tunnel. Traffic was surprisingly light for Thanksgiving morning!

My mommy cracking open the mandatory Jiffy Cornbread! LOL

Our Thanksgiving meal was the bomb.com!

Marc carving the turkey and mom supervising! LOL

I think I over indulged just a tad! LOL

Stay tuned for part 2 of Thanksgiving Day!

Day 27: same old same old!

I took exactly one picture this day!! Nothing went as planned including leaving for moms house the night before Thanksgiving.

As a matter of fact Marc worked late and I slept in until like noon! I just couldn't get myself together and it seemed my body insisted upon me resting!

I also forget to eat until late evening hence the one picture included in this post because I finally broke down and made a salad!

Poor Marc had to work, come home and smoke a bunch of meat then rush to a church service at 7. I'm pretty sure I was back in bed early. This getting older stuff kind of sucks as far as the energy part is concerned. I got to do something about that and soon.

Day 26: pre- holiday prep

Today was a blur! So here are just a few snippets! LOL

I don't know about you but when my fridge is full I love to cook!

My original plan was to cook my dishes in advance for Thanksgiving. And originally Marc planned to smoke his meat .

But for some reason none if that happened! lol I'm not sure what happened that day!

I do know my freezer needs a good cleaning out! Note to myself next year...put a date and name on anything you freeze so that you can identify it months later! lol

It took everything in me not to eat both of these pies. But the apple one was for Thanksgiving so I didn't touch it.  Amazingly neither did anyone else in the house! lol

Like I said that day when by in a blur and I'm sure I did something that day...I just can't recall what! lol

Oh unless you count the big storm that barreled down on us that evening! Which may explain the memory loss. There is something about a rainy gloomy day that inspires me to do absolutely nothing! LOL

Day 25: Foodie!

Started the morning off by making homemade pancakes with walnuts.

Top of the list today was hitting the grocery store for regular groceries as well as for Thanksgiving Day.

Don't ask me what Marc plans to do with two turkeys!

We had to have two carts! That was a first.

And did I mention we also had to buy a car battery. This is Marc in SAMs Club parking lot replacing the old one. And yes our battery is in the trunk of the car. I don't know what the Lincoln designers were thinking!

After putting all that food away the last thing I felt like doing was cooking but I did it anyway!

Technically the only thing I have to prepare for Thanksgiving is mashed potatoes and stuffing but I always cook my own Turkey dinner so that we can have leftovers ! lol

Day 24: Baby It's cold outside!!!

Yesterday we woke up to temps in the low 30s with whipping winds! Marc went outside for a minute and came back in saying you not only needed your long johns you needed your cousins long johns as well!

This is him driving to church. I felt like I was in an old western movie! lol

The kids after service raiding Marc's fridge for some chocolate!

It was Senior Sunday at WABC yet somehow my husband still managed to spend most of his time hanging with the babies! smh

I was tempted to wear this ensemble to church ( I did wear the leggings under my jeans) but I refrained until we came home from lunch with the seniors at Golden Corral!
