Stayvavation: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!

Wednesday Marc and I went back over to Yorktown to walk at the waterside.

We met my mom, cousin and my godmother for lunch and then headed to Colonial Williamsburg to walk around.

Originally we had hoped to vacation in North Carolina and tour the Biltmore Estate and other local landmarks but that just wasn't in the budget this year.

Thankfully my mom allows us to come and stay at her country estate whenever we would like. LOL On Thursday morning we packed up and headed up to Northern VA to visit a family friend in the hospital. The traffic was crazy coming back (as usual) so we stopped at The Container Store and Ikea before heading back home. As of right now we don't have any further vacation plans as Marc is about to head back to school next month to finish up his final year before graduating in May with a Masters Degree in Theology. After that we "plan" to take a family cruise (hopefully with Disney for the first time)!!!!

Now though its back to the daily grime, which meant grocery shopping on yesterday and hopefully back to eating some healthier meals.

On a journey!

In the last month I have been working to eat healthier. For the most part I'm doing pretty good! Its a tad harder to do when you eat out though. I've been trying to keep a sort of food diet by posting what I eat on Instagram. And I'm trying to cook as many of the meals myself when possible. Some days are better then others. LOL

Are you ready for the weekend baby?? Part 2

Additional photos from the weekends in June. I'm so behind in my blogging! After VBS I've had a hard time getting back on track! Hoping to do better in August!

Are You Ready For The Weekend Baby??

Last week we received a ton of invites for graduation!

Friday I went to class with Marc. He's only taking one class this summer which allows us to spend some time together on Saturday!

This allowed us to go to Davids graduation. We've known him since he was born and when he was small my daughters baby set him and his siblings. They are kind of freaking out now because so many of the kids they knew as babies are in college! Imagine how we feel? lol

My girlfriend and her husband are very proud of him!

His siblings ( all of which the girls have baby set for)!

Nicki was able to attend as well.

We had a great time! It was a perfect way to start the weekend. This coming weekend we have two graduation parties! Oh boy!

Rubber Ducky Your The One!

So our local museum just did a big expansion.

And to promote all of the changes they invited this fellow to come hang out in the lake.

Everyone seemed to be getting in on the fun!

First Quisha went and posted this pic!

Then Nicki and her boyfriend went!

So I proceeded to beg Marc to take me. LOL He kept asking why I wanted to see a big yellow duck! LOL Eventually he relented and Memorial Day (which happened to be the last day) we made a Day Date to see the Duck!

Apparently everyone else had the same idea!

I mean do you see all of the people lined up to take pictures? LOL

I bet none were cheesing as much as I was!

I even attempted to take a selfie. Can you say Epic fail. And don't even ask me what Marc was doing! We are such dorks. LOL

In all of the years that I have lived here not once have I been to the Chrysler Museum! Its actually pretty sad. Especially now that I know its FREE! I mean how many places can you go to nowadays for FREE? And how many museums let you take photos?

You don't see artwork like this Tiffany glass window at churches anymore. Isn't it breathtaking?

And this dress is made from glass! The detailing was amazing!

There was no way we could have seen everything so we will have to come back again!!!

After we left the museum we headed to the mall to eat lunch at Nordstrom cafe. Courtesy of a gift card I received on my birthday from a really good friend.

And I couldn't very well go in the mall without stopping at my favorite store! With Marc's schedule right now we get very little down time so being able to spend the day together was a special treat! I want more Day Dates. Oh and a little side note...guess how many days it took me to get Rubber Ducky your the one out of my head? LOL
